Jamia Millia Islamia moves classes online amid row over student protests, safety concerns

Jamia Millia Islamia announced the transition to online classes to ensure student safety amid ongoing protests. The protests began after five students initiated an indefinite hunger strike on October 12. Students are demanding the restoration of the Jamia Millia Islamia Students' Union, which was dissolved in 2006. Allegations regarding slogans for a 'Free Kashmir' during demonstrations have been denied by students.
