Re-NEET 2026: Temporary ban on Telegram imposed to prevent paper leak fraud ahead June 21 examination

Re-NEET 2026: The government has imposed a temporary restriction on Telegram in India ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026, to curb paper leak fraud and misinformation. The move, taken under Section 69A of the IT Act, also includes disabling Telegram’s message-editing feature to prevent fabrication of fake leak evidence. NTA welcomed the action, stating it will help ensure a secure, fair, and transparent examination process for all candidates nationwide.
