Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) removes optional subject from State Services Main Exam from 2027

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is set to overhaul its State Services Main Examination from 2027, eliminating the optional subject requirement. Candidates will now face seven compulsory papers, including language, essay, and four General Studies papers. This move aligns Maharashtra with several other states adopting a standardized evaluation system. The total marks for the written exam will be 1,250, with the interview remaining at 275.
