JEE eligibility criteria: IIT Roorkee rules out one-time relief in 75% rule amid CBSE evaluation row

Concerns over CBSE’s On-Screen Marking system have led JEE aspirants to demand a one-time relaxation of the 75 per cent Class 12 eligibility criterion for admission to IITs, NITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. Students allege evaluation inconsistencies affecting board marks. IIT Roorkee, organising JEE Advanced 2026, has rejected relaxation, citing multi-board participation and prior announcement of criteria, but said coordinating with CBSE to address grievances and resolve issues affecting candidates’ results and admissions.
